Withdrawal of Manuscript

Manuscript Withdrawal Policy

JITP: Jurnal Inovasi dan Transformasi Pendidikan establishes this Manuscript Withdrawal Policy to protect the integrity and efficiency of the editorial and peer-review process and to respect the time, expertise, and resources contributed by Editors, reviewers, and the journal's publishing team.

Authors are expected to carefully consider their decision before submitting a manuscript. Submission to JITP indicates that all authors have agreed to the submission and intend to proceed with the editorial and peer-review process in good faith.

1. General Policy on Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors should not withdraw a manuscript without a valid and reasonable justification after it has entered the editorial or peer-review process.

Withdrawal requests must be submitted formally by the corresponding author to the Editorial Office and must include:

  • the manuscript title;
  • manuscript or submission ID;
  • names of all authors;
  • a clear reason for requesting withdrawal; and
  • confirmation that all authors have agreed to the withdrawal request.

A manuscript is not considered officially withdrawn until the corresponding author receives written confirmation from the Editorial Office.

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal while the manuscript remains active in the JITP editorial system.

2. Withdrawal During the Peer-Review Process

If an author requests withdrawal after the manuscript has entered the peer-review process, an administrative withdrawal fee of:

IDR 500,000 per manuscript

may be charged to compensate for editorial administration, reviewer coordination, and other resources that have already been committed to processing the manuscript.

The withdrawal request will be reviewed by the Editor, and the author will receive formal notification regarding the status of the request.

Payment of the withdrawal fee, where applicable, does not affect the confidentiality of the manuscript or the journal's obligations regarding publication ethics.

3. Withdrawal After Acceptance

If an author requests withdrawal after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication, an administrative withdrawal fee of:

IDR 1,000,000 per manuscript

will apply.

At this stage, the journal may already have undertaken substantial editorial and production activities, including final editing, metadata preparation, layout preparation, DOI processing, publication scheduling, and other production-related procedures.

The withdrawal request will be finalized after the applicable administrative requirements have been completed and the Editorial Office has issued written confirmation of withdrawal.

4. Exceptional Circumstances

JITP recognizes that manuscript withdrawal may occasionally be necessary for legitimate reasons, including:

  • discovery of a significant error affecting the validity of the manuscript;
  • serious ethical concerns;
  • authorship disputes that cannot be resolved during the editorial process;
  • legal or copyright concerns;
  • duplicate submission discovered and immediately disclosed by the authors; or
  • other exceptional circumstances considered reasonable by the Editor.

In such cases, the Editor-in-Chief may review the circumstances and determine whether the withdrawal fee should be reduced, waived, or otherwise handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Unauthorized or Improper Withdrawal

Authors must not attempt to withdraw a manuscript informally by:

  • refusing to respond to editorial correspondence;
  • submitting the manuscript simultaneously to another journal without formally completing the withdrawal process;
  • requesting removal solely because the manuscript has been accepted elsewhere;
  • bypassing the corresponding author or other co-authors; or
  • failing to disclose relevant information concerning duplicate or simultaneous submission.

Such conduct may be treated as a potential breach of publication ethics.

Where inappropriate withdrawal, duplicate submission, or other publication misconduct is confirmed, JITP may take appropriate editorial or administrative action after reviewing the circumstances and, where appropriate, giving the authors an opportunity to provide an explanation.

Possible actions may include:

  • terminating the manuscript's editorial process;
  • rejecting the manuscript;
  • notifying the authors of the identified ethical concern;
  • restricting future submissions from the responsible author(s) for an appropriate period in serious or repeated cases; and
  • taking other measures consistent with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.

Any restriction on future submissions will be based on the seriousness and circumstances of the case and will not automatically be imposed solely because an author has requested withdrawal.

6. Published Articles

Once an article has been formally published, it is no longer considered a manuscript withdrawal.

Requests concerning published articles will be handled under the journal's policies on corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and publication ethics.

Published articles will not be removed from the journal solely as an administrative sanction against an author. Correction, retraction, or removal will only be considered where justified by significant scientific, ethical, legal, or publication-integrity concerns.

7. Withdrawal Procedure

Authors wishing to request manuscript withdrawal should contact the Editorial Office at:

jurnal.jitp@gmail.com

The request should be submitted by the corresponding author and should clearly state the manuscript title, submission ID, reason for withdrawal, and confirmation that all authors have agreed to the request.

Authors should retain the written withdrawal confirmation issued by the Editorial Office. Until such confirmation is received, the manuscript remains formally under consideration by JITP.
