The Journal of Innovative Vocational Education and Technology (JIVET) is an international peer-reviewed academic publication dedicated to advancing research and practice in vocational education. JIVET accepts two types of submissions: original research articles presenting empirical findings and methodological innovations, and comprehensive review articles that synthesize existing literature and identify emerging trends.


Focus and Scope

JIVET accepts articles on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Education Policy & Workforce Development - Research on policy implementation or reviews of leadership approaches and employability skills frameworks
  • Global Perspectives - Research on specific international vocational systems or reviews of comparative approaches, social issues, and future challenges
  • Industry Integration - Research on work-based learning, work-integrated learning, teaching factory implementation, and applied skills or reviews of industry-education partnerships
  • Teaching & Learning Innovation - Research on curriculum development, innovative methodologies, and assessment or reviews of pedagogical approaches in vocational education
  • Technology Applications & Appropriate Technology - Research on technology integration in vocational settings, development of appropriate technology for local contexts, sustainable technological solutions, or reviews of technological adaptations, indigenous technical knowledge, and accessible innovation models for vocational training

JIVET operates under a full open access policy. All articles are freely available to readers worldwide without subscription fees or access restrictions. This policy reflects our commitment to the principle that knowledge should be openly accessible to support the advancement of science and practice.

Authors who publish in JIVET retain the copyright of their work. The journal uses the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing articles to be distributed, adapted, and reused for any purpose, provided proper attribution is given to the original source.


Digital Archiving and Preservation

JIVET ensures long-term access to published content through participation in the following digital preservation systems:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)

These systems store journal content across multiple institutions to guarantee its safety and availability over time.


Sponsorship Disclosure

This journal may receive support from educational institutions, professional organizations, or other sponsors. However, such support does not influence the editorial or peer-review process, which remains independent and based solely on scholarly merit.


Journal History

JIVET was first launched in 2025 in response to the growing need for a scholarly forum focused on innovative practices and research in vocational education and applied technology. Over time, JIVET has evolved to keep pace with academic and industrial developments, expanding its collaborative network and readership reach.
